Wonderings
This group includes just-for-fun paintings: Moon Girl, Constructions, Lemon Tree, Magic Bird, and Predator, where I played with color and composition without a deeper meaning. I really like puzzling around with overlapping, entwined figures, as I did in Game and Two Figures. They are as much fun as snakes.
Cloud Mask, Quandary and Mosaic Nude were all design exercises. As often happens, when I had finished I found deeper meaning, but the meaning you find might be totally different.
Pyramid Cave is one of many paintings which take me back to that magic place of desert and water. Pyramid Texture is another with an easily missed figure; one of my first digital paintings.
Fire Aftermath was the last of several paintings I made at the time of the Trauner Fire. Acres of my property and pieces of structures were eaten ; but my son and his family on adjoining property lost everything. I used the colors from the first paintings to do this non-objective one, which helped me acknowledge the sadness.
Hokusai is a collage of his work, including the self-portrait, and is meant to honor him. Another very early digital painting, but one I really like.
